December Events in the South Bay


It seems like there are a million things to do in December, from buying gifts to baking cookies to celebrating the holidays. It’s a whirlwind of fun and festivities in the South Bay, and we have some of our favorite holiday events lined up for you. 

Holiday Stroll & Walk-About 
North Manhattan Beach, Highland Ave, between 32nd-40th
December 1, 5pm-9pm
Manhattan Beach had to get in on the Holiday Stroll, this time in North Manhattan. Come out to meet Santa, enjoy the petting zoo, win the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest, and go shopping! Learn more here

The Sandpipers’ 30th Annual Holiday Homes Tour 
920 Highland Ave. Manhattan Beach  
December 2-4, daily 10am-5pm 
You know we real estate buffs at Caskey love beautiful homes, and there are plenty in the South Bay. But what’s better than a luxury home dressed for the holidays? This popular community fundraising event attracts over 2,000 attendees annually. This year's tour boasts four distinctive homes in the South Bay, each transformed for the holidays by local artisans and florists. Start at Neptunian Woman's Club’s festive boutique, featuring jewelry, wine, spirits, artisan goods, and clothing. Presale tickets are $30 and fully tax-deductible. Learn more here

Local Love for the Holidays Weekend 
Downtown Manhattan Beach 
December 2-4, daily 9am-9pm 
Before or after you tour the holiday homes, head to downtown MB for a scavenger hunt, pictures with Santa, a golf cart parade, and more! This festive weekend brings the community together and much-needed business to our local shops. Maybe you’ll catch the Mira Costa Roving Carolers, as well! Learn more here

25th Annual Palos Verdes Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights
550 Deep Valley Dr. Rolling Hills Estates (The route travels along Silver Spur Rd. and Deep Valley Dr.)
Saturday, December 3, 6pm- 7pm
Enjoy a festive parade of holiday floats, marching bands, and Santa Claus! A free event perfect for the whole family, this brightly lit celebration is a great way to cap off December's first weekend of holiday-packed events! Learn more here

The Holiday Stroll
Riviera Village
Dec 8th at 5pm-9pm
Act fast before South Redondo’s beloved Holiday Stroll is gone! On Thursday, December 8th from 5-9pm, Catalina Avenue is closed to cars from Avenue I to South Elena. The streets are aglow with festive lighting, shops stay open, and seasonal tunes play throughout. Keep an eye out for holiday characters happy to take pictures with you, including Santa himself. Holiday Concert on the Pier
Fisherman’s Wharf, Redondo Beach, West End of The Pier (behind Tony’s)
Saturday, December 10, 2pm-4pm
Last weekend was so fun, why not do it again this weekend? Head to the Redondo Pier for live holiday music, activity books, a charity toy drive, a holiday selfie station, and sponsor giveaways. Donate a new unwrapped toy and earn a chance to win prizes! Learn more here

Manhattan Beach Fireworks 
Downtown Manhattan Beach 
Sunday, December 11, 3:30pm-7pm
One of the most beloved South Bay traditions remains December’s stunning fireworks show over the lit Manhattan Beach Pier. Enjoy live music from the award-winning Mira Costa Jazz Ensemble at 5pm, then a community sing-along at 6pm with Joe’s Band. Shop til you drop at local boutiques, all of which stay open late and feature holiday deals and treats. Bring a picnic or make a reservation, just make sure you can see the Pier at 7pm when the fireworks start! Learn more here
