It's that perfect time of year. Football and pumpkins and all-day parking. Spooky season and chili nights and Hocus Pocus on repeat. Though we have no transforming leaves, we do have crisp mornings and a local Trader Joe's that transports you into Halloween town. It's a whole vibe.
The whole month is perfect for pumpkin patches, apple picking, and all things Halloween. Our favorite pumpkin patches are Debbie & Jeff’s in Redondo, Cottone & Sons in Torrance, and Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in Culver City. For apple picking, you may need to drive a little farther, but we love Willowbrook Apple Farm in Glen Oak, Los Rios Rancho and Stone Soup Farm & Heritage Orchard, both in Yucaipa.
If you’re into the spookier side of the season, there are plenty of options in LA. Universal Studios in Hollywood has its infamous Halloween Horror Nights, and Knott’s Berry Farm gets a full makeover to become Knott’s Scary Farm! Take a Hollywood Haunted Tour for some history on the more sinister side of Tinseltown. And, of course, the best haunted houses are your own! We recommend lots of cobwebs, skeletons, and maybe some startling animatronics.
Stop by the Treasure Chest on the Hermosa Pier for your Halloween costume. Then celebrate the day anywhere in the South Bay. Shellback and the Hermosa Beach Pier on Halloween is the best people-watching all year.
Visit the farmer's market for an impeccable selection of fresh local flowers, produce, and fall treats. Though our farmer's markets are always flourishing, there's something different about harvest time. And all our mom-and-pop boutiques have extra special products. With the holidays just around the corner, it's time to start swooping up anything you know a loved one would want.
And on Sunday, October 30th - wrap up the month at the Caskey booth at the Skecher's Friendship Walk. Caskey Real Estate Group is a longtime proud supporter. We'll be at the community event as we always are, with popcorn and fun. Come by to meet the team and walk for a cause! Sign up or donate here.
